The Church in Latin America is bright and growing. Worship fills churches in busy cities, mountain villages, and communities are happening in the rainforest. But the Bible have not reached everyone.
Across the region, Deaf Bible translators, Deaf pastors, and ministry leaders are helping change that. As more sign language Bible translations become available, Deaf people are encountering Jesus in a deeper and more personal way. Families are growing in faith. Deaf churches are becoming stronger.
The work is not easy. Many Deaf communities live in lonely areas with limited access to churches, Bible resources, or technology. But God is opening doors. Local Deaf believers are translating the Bible themselves, for their own people, in languages that only their communities fully understand.
When you pray today, you join the prayers already rising from those communities. Prayers from believers in Brazil who gathered this morning around a newly translated Gospel, from a pastor in Colombia emboldened to preach in his sign language for the first time because that language now has the Scriptures, from a woman in Peru watching Scripture for the very first time.
“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news,” wrote Isaiah (52:7).
Today, pray for those carrying the good news to Deaf communities throughout Latin America.
Lord, we pray for Deaf communities across Latin America. Strengthen Bible translators, Deaf pastors, and ministry leaders serving throughout the region. Open new doors for sign language Bible translation, and help every Deaf person discover the hope of Jesus through Scripture.
Amen.
